A nice first world war era glengarry that is badged to the first battalion (as indicated by the red backing), Royal Scots, one of the oldest infantry regiments of the British army until an amalgamation in 2006. Interestingly, the badge does not appear to have lugs or a pin but is sewn on through the rosette. The silk tails are no longer present and the leather edge has wear commensurate with age. Maker marked to Robert Wallace Forsyth Hatters who opened their Princes Street shop in 1907. This glen likely dates from the first war or slightly earlier. A couple of minor moth nips present.
