These are not considered firearms in Canada, no PAL is required to purchase or own this flare pistol. Copied from a French flare pistol, the Mk IV pistol was commonly issued as essential cockpit equipment for reconnaissance and bomber aircraft, such as the de Havilland DH-4, allowing aircrews to signal positions. The example was manufactured by the A.H. Fox Gun Company of Philadelphia and is in excellent original condition.
