This brass glengarry badge belonged to the 42nd Lanark & Renfrew Battalion of Infantry, a Canadian Militia unit. The badge dates from approx. 1868-1899. If features a laurel wreath surrounding the Roman numeral XLII (42), topped by a Victorian crown. The banner at the bottom bears the Latin motto "FAC ET SPERA." Both flat lugs are attached and in good condition.
